Monkey Park is open to the public every day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The following services are offered during these times:

A guide and Translation: A bilingual guide (Spanish/English) will tell stories and answer any questions or concerns you may have about what we do at Monkey Park. I would like more information about guided tours.

Rescue Center: You can visit and see both the animals that, for a variety of reasons, are living permanently in Monkey Park and those that are going through the process of being reincorporated to their natural habitat.  You will also be able to adopt one of the animals.

Butterfly Farm: Taking advantage of the native Flora’s natural habitat, we have created a place where you can observe a variety of native butterfly species. These butterflies are set free periodically. Relax, enjoy, and admire the large variety of butterflies and tropical plants that convert this garden into a magical place.

Hiking: You can enjoy hiking along paths that go far into the dry tropical forest. You will be able to see and appreciate native species of trees. The signs along the path will help you identify the different species. You will also find an incredible variety of birds as well as families of Congo monkeys that live in the park.

Handicrafts Store:  At this store, which is located inside the park, you will be able to meet and talk to the artisans about their products.  They can explain how the typical ceramics of this area are made as well as the history and knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation since the Pre-Colombian period when the province of Guanacaste was inhabited by the native Mayan- Chorotegans.  You can also find crafts from other areas of the country, such as those made of wood (mainly found in Sarchí), hammocks from Guanacaste, and delicate ceramics from San José.  The store also sells maps, books, and t-shirts.  There is a permanent Exhibition of the Joyería Esmeraldas y Diseños S.A. where you can purchase a variety fine jewelry.

What you should bring?
We recommend that you bring a camera or video equipment, binoculars, insect repellent, sun block and comfortable walking shoes.
