The white tail Deer
Odocoileus viginianus
Monkey Park currently shelters thirteen white tail deer: six adults and seven babies between the two and ten months old.
The adults came to Monkey Park for several reasons: wounded by the area hunters, hit by cars, or rescued from illegal captivity. The babies are the result of the mating inside the park.
Rehabilitation
The work to reintegrate the adult animals and their families to their natural habitat is meticulous. The oldest are put in a training and rehabilitation program that prepares them for life in the wild, while the youngest will start the process once there lactation period is over.
