Kiko and Coquito:
Adult Cute Carablanca

Cebus capucinus

Kiko and Coquito, a pair of male adult monkeys, have lived in Monkey Park for four years. They are part of the species known as “carablanca” for the particular pigmentation of its face. They were kept in illegal captivity- as family pets- where they grew up in extremely poor conditions: very small cages, poor nourishment and bad treatment.

Carnivorous Species
Most people don’t understand how difficult it is to maintain a wild animal in good condition at their home. They usually get the animal when it is young… and after some time they don’t want to take care of it anymore. What they don’t understand is that this early captivity makes it impossible for the animal to ever again survive in the wild.
