Quincho
The Oropopo or anteojudo owl
Pulsatrix perspicillata
Quincho is a Spectacol Owi owl, a species locally known as Oropopo or Anteojudo. He came to Monkey Park two years ago when someone found him alone on the ground in the forest. He was just a young pigeon, approximately five months old. He probably fell from his nest. Most likely, the tree that gave him shelter was cut.
Due to his young age, he wasn’t able to live on his own. Now that he has become a healthy adult, the captivity and lack of guidance from those of his species, has made it impossible for him to survive in the wild.
