Sizi: the Saíno
Tayassu tajacu

Sizi is a “saíno”, related to the family of wild boars. When Monkey Park’s visitors see him, they are generally reminded of “Pumba” the “Lion King’s” African boar.

Sizi came to Monkey Park approximately four years ago, when he was still a baby. The person, who had taken him for a pet, decided to bring him. When he got here, due to his youth, we didn’t know his gender, nor did we have the qualified personnel to find out. We gave him a feminine name. Later, we discovered that he was a male. Fortunately, this confusion doesn’t seem to bother Sizi, or those who are in charge of his nourishment and special daily care.
