Tico and Tuquituqui
The Rainbow peak toucans
Ramphastos sulfuratus

Tico and Tuquituqui are two beautiful Rainbow Peak Toucans, a species of birds that are in danger of extinction.

Both have lived in Monkey Park for the past three years. Tuquituqui was donated by the person who kept him in illegal captivity since he was a young pigeon. Tico, on the other hand, was seized by the government because he had also been raised as a pet. As it commonly happens with animals that have been captive for a long period of time, Tico and Tuquituqui won’t be able to return to their natural habitat. They will need help for the rest of their lives in order to survive.
