Paquito and Paquita:
The Red Limpets

Paquito and Paquita came four years ago, when they were young pigeons whose wing feathers were just starting to grow. They were brought here by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, after being seized in San José, the capital of Costa Rica. We still don’t know their gender, but they have been given a name already.

Living Free
Paquito and Paquita are currently under the protection and care of the team that works for Monkey Park. At eight o’clock every morning the gate to their cage, which protects them from predators during the night, is opened. They are free to travel through the park and climb the trees. At approximately four o’clock they return to their cages, on their own, looking for food. Maybe, in time, they will surprise us and have some pigeons…
