Volunteering

Volunteer work is extremely important, not only for those who give it but for those who receive it. Your contribution of time is important in helping to make others realize the importance of safeguarding our natural resources for future generations.

The Monkey Park Rescue Center, works with the help of volunteers from the Volunteer Association Serving Protected Areas Program (ASVO), a non-profit organization established February 27th, 1989.

What kind of work do the volunteers do?
Volunteers do a variety of jobs such as; cut the grass, clean the cages, feed the animals, help the veterinarian staff when needed, build and clean the paths, serve as guides and offer information to those who visit the park.

What does Monkey Park offer?
Monkey Park has a one bedroom facility, located at the park’s entrance, to host the volunteers. This facility has a bunk bed, space to keep your things, a gas stove, and one bathroom with a shower.

A family from the Portegolpe, located 1.5 kilometers from the park, provides the volunteers with food. As a volunteer you will have access to a bicycle to help you get to and from Portegolpe with ease.
